Here is the second half of the updates from our first holidays together:
Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
Everyone thought we were crazy for leaving the house at 4am to let Rai sleep on the way to Patty's, but we lucked out. Although the sun wasn't up when we got into town, we could hear the sleet ont he windshield, and it started snowing just minutes after we arrived. Within an hour or so, the snow and temperatures made it a bit rough on travelers. Aaron's parents made into town okay, but Aaron's sister, Amy, ended up stuck in Dallas for the holidays. Our plans shifted around slightly with so many people not able to make it, but we enjoyed our 2 days being snowed in.
Crong from Pororo!
It's no wonder we couldn't get the doors open at first!
Luckily, the weather improved enough so that we were able to have Christmas with my family the day after Christmas. Aaron took these pictures of the road conditions while I drove:
Before we arrived at my aunt's, we stopped by the gravesite to deliver flowers and say hello. Rai kissed the deer on my grandfather's side and decided that the angels on my grandmother's side needed a quarter, too!
Celebrating the holidays with Uncle Don (my brother), Ojiichan (my dad), Obaachan (my mom), Uncle Van (my uncle), Aunt Pat (my aunt), and Pam (my cousin).
We got home late the day after Christmas and were curious to see if Rai would wake up to find the gifts Santa left and immediately start playing. Nope. Rai came into our room the next morning half awake and eventually saw Santa's gifts after we all got up.
