Honoring My Friend and "Twin", Dr. Janet Johnson

Today is a celebration of a great friend and my so-called "twin." Today at 10:00am, Janet Johnson will be hooded as Dr. Janet Johnson with a Ph.D. in Rhetoric from Texas Women's University.

Today, her friends and family will come together and support Janet during this wonderful conclusion of a chapter in her life. This chapter began before I first met Janet, but I am honored to be a small part of this stage in her life. A stage which marks the end of a difficult rite of passage and yet the beginning of a career in academia. As a scholar, Janet takes pride in the realm of research and analysis.

This blog certainly does not do this day justice, but I wanted to take a quick moment to announce this exciting occasion before the day unfolds.

Here are a few pictures taken yesterday to help prepare for today's ceremony. (A few goofy pictures certainly helped any pre-graduation jitters!)
